Electric Vehicle Fleet rollout
We’re excited to share some big news - we’ve recently taken delivery of our first two fully electric waste collection vehicles. These vans are already on the streets of Edinburgh, helping us deliver cleaner, more sustainable recycling services for our customers.
This investment marks the beginning of our ambitious three-year programme to transition all 14 of our High Quality Recycling (HQR) collection vehicles in Edinburgh and Glasgow to electric. By 2028, the service will run exclusively on electric vehicles, ensuring that every collection supports our unique source-segregated offering while helping to deliver cleaner air and a healthier environment.
Stephen Cameron, Managing Director:
“Introducing these new electric vans is more than just an upgrade to our fleet, it’s a statement of intent. Our customers expect excellent recycling services, but also assurance that we operate responsibly. Electric vehicles help us deliver on both fronts by lowering carbon emissions and contributing to cleaner air in our cities.
This investment is just the beginning. With every step we take toward electrifying our fleet, we’re reinforcing our commitment to making Edinburgh and Glasgow cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable.”
The shift to EVs delivers wide-ranging benefits:
Improved sustainability - Lowering the carbon footprint of every collection.
Cleaner air - Cutting harmful emissions to support healthier communities.
Enhanced reliability - Modern EV technology ensures a dependable, efficient service for our customers.
We’re proud to lead the way in responsible, innovative waste management solutions, and we’re excited to bring our customers along on this journey with us.
